The vast majority of Buckinghamshire residents dispose of their waste responsibly and check that they are using registered waste carriers when they get others to remove and recycle their rubbish. The Waste Partnership for Buckinghamshire campaign against fly-tipping, 'Illegal Dumping Costs' has supported this since its launch in 2003. Fly-tipping across the county is less than half what it was in 2003. This has saved us all money in council tax and has helped keep our countryside beautiful.
Thanks to the success of the Illegal Dumping Costs campaign and support from the vast majority of residents, we are able to preserve beautiful scenes like this in Buckinghamshire.
But unfortunately fly-tipping has not been eradicated in Buckinghamshire and illegal dumping still occurs - though offenders have paid thousands in fines and costs and on average one fly-tipper is caught and convicted every week.
Many fly tipping hotspots in Buckinghamshire are now monitored by surveillance cameras, and this has led to further success in prosecuting offenders.
If you witness rubbish being dumped illegally please call or report the incident online
as soon as possible. You may also report fly tipped waste so that we can investigate and arrange clearance.
